‘Soundable Health’ won the 1st place in the Innovation Challenge in the category of the investment conference
The Korea Bio Association held the ‘K-Startup Meetup 2019 Philadelphia’ with 10 promising domestic bio-startups in Philadelphia, USA from June 1st to 5th. Among them, Soundable Health (CEO Song Ji-young), a domestic healthcare venture company, was selected as the No.1.
Soundable Health is a venture company that develops a technology that records and applies the sound produced during defecation to an application to determine the presence or absence of abnormalities such as the prostate. The company explained that it is not inferior in reliability compared to tests performed in hospitals by patterning 5,000 cases of defecation sound to determine the presence or absence of disease.
The company in second place is Drusolv Therapeutics of the United States, which introduced technology related to eye disease AMD (Age Related Meculated Diseases), and in third place, it specializes in the treatment of Crohn's disease and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It went back to AIBIOS, a Japanese company that introduced the technology.

Soundable Health has already developed technology with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, etc., and is developing products that can periodically check element tests at home at events within medical institutions. 투자컨퍼런스 이노베이션 챌린지 부문, ‘사운더블헬스’ 1위 선정
한국바이오협회는 6월 1일부터 5일까지 미국 필라델피아에서 국내 유망 바이오스타트업 10개사와 함께 ‘K-Startup Meetup 2019 Philadelphia’를 진행했다. 이 중 3일 (현지시간) 개최된 초기 바이오 분야 투자 컨퍼런스인 레지(Redefining Early Stage Investment, RESI)에서 이노베이션 챌린지 부문에서 국내 헬스케어 벤처기업인 사운더블헬스 (대표 송지영)가 1위에 선정됐다.
사운더블헬스는 배변 시 나오는 소리를 녹음해 애플리케이션에 적용, 전립선 등의 이상 유무를 판별하는 기술을 개발하는 벤처기업으로 미국, 일본 등 총 35개 기업과의 경합 끝에 1위를 차지했다. 5000여건의 배변 소리를 패턴화하여 질환 유무를 판별, 병원 내에서 행하는 검사들에 비해 신뢰성이 떨어지지 않는다는 것이 회사 측의 설명이다.
2위를 차지한 기업은 안과질환 AMD (Age Related Meculated Diseases) 관련 기술을 선보인 미국의 드루솔브 (Drusolv Therapeutics)이며 3위로는 크론병 치료 및 염증성 장 질환 (IBD: Inflammatory bowel disease) 등의 치료를 전문 기술을 선보인 일본기업인 아이바이오스 (AIBIOS)에게 돌아갔다.
이번 투자컨퍼런스에서 좋은 성적을 낼 수 있었던 이유로 송 대표는 “물론 기업의 기술 자체에 대한 평가도 성적에 반영 되었지만 (한국)바이오협회가 함께 참가한 국내 바이오기업 10개 사에 3회의 사전 교육을 제공함으로써 영문IR피칭, 파트너링 코칭을 해준 결과” 라고 말했다.
사운더블헬스는 이미 분당서울대병원 등과 함께 기술을 개발, 의료기관 내에 행사는 요소검사를 집에서도 주기적으로 체크할 수 있도록 제품을 개발하고 있으며 이미 FDA와 한국 등에서 제품 허가를 준비중이며 올해 시제품을 생산하고 이르면 내년 웰니스 품목으로 상업화를 추진 중이라고 전했다.
